From a tool we built for ourselves to the way creators edit.
A working AI post-production platform, in a $3.5B market.
The full pipeline runs today, on consumer hardware. Pre-revenue. Launch: January 1, 2027.
Video exploded. Post-production did not.
Every brand is a video publisher now, but a human still drags each clip onto a timeline. Post-production absorbs 60-70% of a videomaker's hours. In Italy, AI adoption in the audiovisual sector went from 11.1% to 28.3% in twelve months (ISTAT).
A working product, not a prototype
Ingest, AI footage analysis, semantic search, log-first color, transcription, the agent-built edit, render, export to Resolve and Premiere. All of it runs today, dogfooded daily on real client work. Cronocroma is pre-revenue: the hard part is already built.
A $3.5B market, pulled by a 200M-creator economy
$3.5B in global video-editing software (Mordor Intelligence, 2025), behind it a creator economy of 200M+ people (Grand View Research, market.us). Italy is the beachhead: a €4.06 billion creator economy (EU.R.E.S. / CNG, 2025) and 12,000 to 18,000 freelance videomakers, on our own bottom-up estimate.
Why it is defensible
Local-first: models, database and render on the creator's hardware, so marginal cost per video is near zero and a free tier is sustainable where cloud generators cannot follow. The AI works on real footage instead of inventing it. The brand engine applies the creator's identity to every output. One pipeline replaces four or five disconnected tools.
Where we are going
Launch is January 1, 2027, when the automatic edit, semantic color grading and cloud proxy backup join the pipeline that already works. The goal for 2027 is 10,000 creators on the free plan and 1,000 paying. That is a target, not traction: today Cronocroma is pre-revenue.
